Lockdown has been a very different and testing experience for us all. As we try to establish some sense of normality through the opening of non essential shops, I couldn’t be more delighted, if not more cautious about being out and about.
Those of you who are local to Hertford may know that this years Art Trail had to be postponed, possibly cancelled until next year. For me and so many local artists, this was a real blow, as all the work I had created could only be displayed throughout lockdown in my tiny house.
All is not lost though! EyeMind Heart, who I was partnered with and one of the few lovely places to shop left now in Hertford, kindly said I could exhibit the work anyway once they can open again. Phew, you see, this non essential shop actually is essential to me. My opportunity to earn a living relies upon shops like this. I’m very lucky that Tori and Charlie have decided to showcase the work and I hope for their sake and my own people will visit, support local businesses and artists alike.
